All Creation is Connected

We understand this from the moment we enter this world. We are connected to our mothers by our life-sharing umbilical cord. Two entities in one. New life born through struggle and life-giving nutrition. Then, so that we may become one of the community, the physical connection is severed. We are now an independent being. This is a time of transition of control by the mother to integration into relationship to the paradise that God has created for everything’s perfect existence. Mother and Child and Love.

Peace.

Then the Garden happened. Harmony disrupted by fallacies and juvenile foolishness. Since this time, we have been wandering the desert looking for a way back to Peace. Through the millennia there have been times of hope and times of despair. We are now in a time of inflection between these two states. There are strong forces in the world pulling in both directions. I, for one, am excited to be with my community of Jesus followers. Those who know that United in Love has the power to bring peace to all of us again.

We come together in worship to repeatedly remind ourselves that with God’s help we are a member of his universal family. Through our various liturgies and biblical texts, we are educated on how to walk the path of Love and resist the temptations that reside on either side.

This Saturday, May 2nd, the Labyrinth Society is inviting us to a worldwide outreach project. Since 2009, the Annual World Labyrinth Day is an invitation for everyone on the planet to walk a labyrinth with intention. As you walk into the protected center of the labyrinth, ask for the Spirit’s clarity on how you can create Peace around you. As you walk back out into the world community offer up your peaceful discoveries to the universe.

You do not need to imagine being a part of the peace community. Our faith teaches that you have the strength to be an integral member of the peace community. Follow the path. “Take [Jesus’] yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest in for your souls,” Matthew 11:29. (Read yoke as essence not as burden.)

Please consider being a welcomer for an hour this Saturday 9 – 12 as we offer our two labyrinths to the community so they may connect with their spirit and others of the world.

Humbly,

Peter
