Severe Weather Resources

We all need help once in awhile. For anyone in need of ideas on how to stay warm in extreme winter weather, we hope this information will be of value to you.

Key Shelters

Denver uses a ‘Front Door’ system. People should go to these locations first to be placed in a bed:

  • Families: Call 1-866-224-5711 (Salvation Army Connection Center) Or

The process for families has changed for the 2025–2026 season. Families should no longer call for vouchers but must go in person with their children for intake.

  • Primary Family Intake: Inn at the Highlands (2601 Zuni St).

  • Intake Hours: Starts at 7:00 AM on days when severe weather is activated.

  • Family Support Line: Call the Connection Center at 303-295-3366.
