Do you have a plan to vote?
With Election Day approaching, now is the time to make your plan to vote. In-person, absentee, and mail-in voting rules vary widely by state, so check your options and make a plan.
As Episcopalians, we are called to engage faithfully in our common life. Our baptismal covenant calls us to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves; to strive for justice and peace among all people; and to respect the dignity of every human being.
Participating in our elections, helping our neighbors participate, and making space for every eligible voter to be heard are ways we can put those promises into practice. Voting is a commitment to our communities and to seeking the common good.
Things to consider as you make your plan to vote:
States have different rules about voting by mail, voting early, and tracking your ballot. In-person excused or no-excuse early voting may also be available in your state. Check your options, and make a plan.
Have you already voted by mail/absentee or plan to vote by mail/absentee? (If you plan to vote by mail, mail your ballot early.) Once you mail it, track your ballot or ballot application.
Do you plan to vote in-person early or on election day? Make a plan to get to the polls. Verify your polling location.
Help your neighbors make their plan to vote by sharing these links with them. Other ideas about how to support your neighbors and help everyone access the vote are available on our Election Engagement webpage.
If you are not already part of our monthly Vote Faithfully networking calls, we would love to have you join us. Register here. The next one is on Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. We will host a prayerful space to reflect on election week.
