The Gospel of Mark starts “The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God…”, and Mark follows with a quick paced story of Jesus and his early teachings.  This is our first known written record of Jesus, so is especially “newsworthy”.  Mark may have written his Gospel to be read aloud, and yet here we are centuries later studying it.  No matter, Mark had a story he wanted us to hear, so let us listen.  We will cover chapter 13, then chapters 2 and 3.
